Transparent Struggles in Marriage and Law Enforcement

I'm part of the blue line family as well as a believer. I would encourage any spouse struggling as Jonathan did with coping, death, and stress of the job to watch this. Likewise, spouses like Stacy who struggle with the emotional and spiritual battle of living with someone facing such demons could certainly be strengthened by the support of a pastor, Christian therapist, and other solid members of the faith. There is hope. Don't let Satan win.

slow, but covers the daily stress , Wrong presentation of Christian theology... see more

this movie was very slow and could have been condensed ,. The theology of " I promise to be a better husband and father " was not Biblical . Christ promises to live in our lives, showing his loving power over sin through the Holy Spirit , if one comes to Him and obeys His promptings and depends on HIm to do the real work , to do the Christian living inside ... only Christ in a person can live the Christ centered and empowered life. They ignored the daily time in the Word , prayers daily , going not just to christian counseling ( which is good ) but to a small group Bible study where one can grow in allowing Christ to live in his life ... At the end , instead of saying to his wife " you are my heart " " you are my everything " the point of a Christ centered and empowered marriage is that both look humbly and obediently to allow the Lord to be the center and focus of their life... in deed their LIfe " Christ IN YOU , the hope of Glory " " the Purpose of a Christian life is to glorify Christ, to see and share His glory in creation , and to encourage others to Know Christ by trusting Him as Saviour and then as Lord, help others to allow the Lord to bring Glory to God in their lives . Parts of it were good , but weak in " going to Church " and speaking Of Jesus only , HIs earthly name, when now the risen Saviour , He is Lord Jesus Christ ( anointed one, Messiah , Lord of Lord , Prince of peace ,MIghty God ) .... lets dont bring the Lord Jesus down to being a buddy when He lived an ignominious Life and died a death He didnt deserve to Give us Life here Through His life in us and Life everlasting ..." IF with ALL YOUR HEART ( your mind, will and emotions ) you truly seek him , you shall ever truly find Him "

I love this movie. I am a widow to a police officer that committed suicide. This movie shows the difficulty in police work and how much mental health is important

Conflicted opinion

For this movie to have been done correctly, it would be the longest movie in history. It took years for J to make a mess of his life and give up control. They had to condense his family's recovery, also. The scene with his wife, during therapy, was understated. Her understanding of why he did things he did was massive for restoring the couple's relationship. His declaration of love to her was overstated, making it sound as if he placed her above Christ. I think the storyline and the actual events show the healing power God has given us, in spite of what we deserve. I don't know of it's the writing of the movie, the directing, or the lack of time (too much to cover), but the movie doesn't quite measure up to what it should. One reviewer said the dedication of a life devoted to Christ was lacking (Bible study, etc). This was represented by J falling asleep reading the Bible, reading it in his car, etc. Definitely understated, but it was there. Again, probably a time crunch thing. It seems the writer wanted to be more subtle in point, wanting to avoid the movie being a "Bible thumper" movie. The result was neglecting to accurately convey the work it takes to, as the therapist said, "Push thru". A Christ filled life makes the transformation possible (where it otherwise wouldn't be), but He won't let us off the hook that easily, because we'd just screw it up again, if He did. After all, there are consequences.

Intense and authentic…a great movie and well acted. It gave me a new appreciation for first responders and the trauma of the reality they deal with daily.

A powerful movie about God's Redeeming Love through the Lord Jesus Christ

This movie gave a glimpse into the live of a police officer and the horrors they face on a daily basis as well as the toll this takes on their personal lives. Although we know that police respond to crime scenes and accidents, I think few of us think about this in any depth. This movie brought to light the emotional strain and the trauma an officer faces when seeing the havoc and destruction wreaked by human sin and failure. Satan is indeed alive and well but his time is short and he is on a rampage. The movie also demonstrated the power of prayer and personal transformation which takes place when a person accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This movie by no means painted a rosy picture with a happy ending. There were many struggles which Jonathan had to face as well as his wife, before their marriage could be restored.

True to Life Movie

Faith based movie that is based on real life events of a struggling police officer. Gives a look at so many issues faced everyday. Covers loss of a parent, loss of a child, mental health, job stress, addiction and infidelity. At the end you find out he now helps other officers overcome the same type issues he was dealing with. Great positive film on sin and redemption through Christ.

Strong Family Bond = Jesus!!

This movie was absolutely fabulous, it gives an ordinary person a glimpse of what police officers go through on a day-to-day. The demons they carry, and because most officers fail to seek help, their marriages end up in divorce. Faith in God allows the individual to place those burdens on Jesus, instead of carrying them around. The movie had great actors, and it unfolded at a great pace, and of-coarse it had a great ending.
