About Jonathan Byrd
Jonathan Byrd is a husband, father of three daughters, and an eternal optimist, some might even say a Micawber. He was born in Biloxi and never imagined living anywhere else. However, after leaving, he never imagined moving back. The more he sees of the world, the more he wants to see. Currently, he lives in Fairhope, Alabama, the hidden jewel of the state.
He has completed an unpublished historical fiction novel set in the Prohibition Era on the Mississippi Gulf Coast entitled Seafood Capital of the World, which was a finalist in the 2021 Faulkner-Wisdom Creative Writing Competition. He is also finishing the first of a series that is a military thriller for the common soldier.
He is a member of Transcendent Authors, a group of ten authors who have been self-publishing anthologies of short stories since 2021. Their titles include: Tolerance: A Collection of Short Stories, Autumn: An Anthology, Spring—The Unexpected, and Winter: An End and a Promise.
When he isn’t writing, he’s thinking about writing even if it looks like he’s doing something else—like work. He has an answer for everything, opinion on anything, and is quiet about nothing.

The Transcendent Authors pulled together and created this book, Spring the Unexpected, for the benefit of all people. Ten different genres depicted. Each author provided two stories for your enjoyment.
You might not always have time to sit down and read a novel, and you miss that. Life has become so hectic, short stories provide you something new to experience in five minutes or an hour. And if you don't read them all, no problem.
In fact, you might want to keep it by the bathtub for when you have those long soaks and a glass of wine to unwind from your busy day.
Together, we compiled this anthology to resemble an old 45 RPM vinyl record, with an A and B side. The 'A' side stories are all based on the theme, "Tolerance." Whereas side 'B' are tales straight from the hearts of the authors.
Both sides, like those records of old, are a banquet of entertainment for the reader. So sit back with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, put your feet up, get comfy, and prepare to enjoy the feast.
