Law of Strength: Four Laws, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Rob is a sheriff's deputy faced with a choice: die in a meaningless shootout six hours from now, or accept the offer of a new life in another world offered by a mysterious goddess.
But it won't be easy. He has to bring law and order to the wild frontier. The shocks keep coming when he finds out humans aren't native to Olimero. It is a land populated with fierce orcs, wild beastkin, and cunning elves.
He may not have their magic, but he does have an edge. As an outsider, he has no cap on his stats. He will need to train, fight, and survive if he wants to rule. But with that comes a world worth protecting, complete with exotic beauties he never imagined.

But, either it's full blown off to the races in some stories, or it's beyond ridiculous behavior like the MC in this book.
6 hours before the MC is fated to die he is contacted by a Goddess to go to another planet and start a new life.
Naturally it's a place where females outnumbered the men and of course they have different standards and morality so everything is all set to high gear. But, the MC drags a morality that exists nowhere, to the point of breaking the story.
If it was a paperback many times I would throw it at the wall as his absurd strict behavior is frustrating in it's impossible structure.
Especially in the circumstances of his situation.
And this author is one of many who feel this is somehow helpful to crafting his storylines.
If I threw my kindle every time I read non existent behavior embraced by a MC like this it would be a pile of wires and plastic.
For me, it had too much soft porn. I prefer story progression instead of long sex scenes.
The MC is a sheriff’s deputy who’s s contacted by a goddess from another world and given a chance to live on that world and be a force of law for some frontier town. He’s got grit, is somewhat intelligent, and is decent looking.
The new world he’s in has no humans other than sheriffs brought in by the goddess. The population s all animal kin, and they breed true to the mother’s beast type, and the birth rate is 3:1 towards female. Couple that with a higher death rate for males due to more dangerous jobs and fighting, and it’s more a 4:1 ratio, so plural marriage are commonplace.
The harem aspect is fairly simplistic due to the gender disparity, as well the fact that one of the sheriff’s department clerks is a bunny kin. Bunny kin are widely known for their amorous natures, so she’s a hot, frisky mess than is ready to jump the MC immediately. He makes her wait, but it’s blatantly obvious this one’s already his. His lone deputy, a fox kin woman, is taking a wait and see approach. They are quite different in nature, at least so far. But the gender ratio is making things real easy.
The book is pretty well written in places, and in other places it needs a bit of work. Poor comma use, poorly formed paragraphs that have sentences that should have been a part of the previous or subsequent paragraphs, and some really peculiar word arrangements pulled me out of my immersion.
Rob is offered a chance for a long life instead of what he's told is his fate, and he takes it, and becomes the Sheriff of Yonderton. Interesting mix of magic and ki power.
Better edited than usual; only quibble is formatting. Irregular tab stops stand out, and setting some tabs for tables would be appreciated, but not critical to enjoying the story. The extra spacing between paragraphs also is not needed. Next book on wish list for when I have the funds. Recommended.
Then a goddess shows up, and she offers h8m a new life in a different world.
Of course, he takes that offer.
Once he gets there he takes time learning how the world works and what he should be doing. He’s significantly weaker and has less agility than most of the inhabitants, and he’s trying to figure out how to fix that so he doesn’t die as has happened to all the previous sheriffs.
Although the cover makes the book look like it’s a harem novel, it’s not… yet. The stats get better further along in the book, and we get some action in the last 40%.
I was looking for a light, easy yet enjoyable read, and I got it. 4/5*

I could not put it down once hooked into the the story, if you want a change from the normal otherworld mediaeval scene and fancy a bit of eastern culture throw in the wild west and beast girls then this should be on your kindle reading list.
Characters are interesting and there’s a neat wee world being built up with interesting features still to be unlocked.
Overall well worth the read so download and enjoy 😁
