Not Too Shabby
Verified purchase
Decent movie. I have no idea who the actors were but they did a capable job. No nudity or sex in this flick which is good. No low key political agenda, just a cute movie. Actually better than what Amazon has been putting out.

A cheapened rendition of "You've Got Mail"
Verified purchase
The exact same premise as "You've Got Mail" only it is over modern text message instead of email. The cast and acting is kinda cringey, and the chemistry between the leads is hard to believe. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either.

"Romance" movie formula again
Verified purchase
Rinse repeat same "Romance" movie formula regurgitated one too many times. A formula that could have only been created by a born XY that has never been on love with a born XX or know anything about a real woman. For example, a woman doesn't become automatically uncoordinated when in love. There is a reason it is said, "Write what you know!"

Smart phone or walkie-talkie?
Verified purchase
The way talk-to-text is represented in this movie is the funniest thing about it. There is much mundane talk over the smart phones via the T2T function. The lead actors both awkwardly hold the phones like walkie talkies and it's mind numbing. However, not as mind numbing as the script, direction and performances.

Need a new writer for the male lead
Verified purchase
I didn't get far in this movie. The male lead was such a complete AH from the opening credits until I bailed at 30 minutes in. This is the only time I have reviewed a move without finishing it.

The end kills it and not in a good way. ; ( ...

There were definitely a lot of moments I really could not buy.... The worst is the end though...UGH.... I hung through it all, the difficult stuff, the good stuff, to see how it is all going to turn out, but then to have the end so unbelievable...... That just makes it feel like a waste. Lots of good moments. Her best friend side kick is too good looking with all of her big curly hair, etc. Our romantic leads needed to have at least one scene where they could be together, not at work, to bring it all together..... Jacked it up at the end.

Boring

Cures insomnia for sure. I was nodding off after only ten minutes. Predicable, zero chemistry between the main characters. Enemies to lovers scenario, blah, blah, blah.

I loved it! Finally, a romcom where the lead is a minority Asian like me!

Brenda Song was adorable in this movie and it was fun to watch! Her partner Aaron O' Connell was cute too. Only thing is Freevee needs to fix the ending, as a lot of it got cut off for some reason! Over all though, I gave it a 4/5, if only because of the cut off at the end.
