About Steven R. Southard
Ever wonder how human history might have been different if certain technologies had been invented earlier? My alternate history fiction explores those possibilities. I put interesting characters in positions where they struggle with advanced technology--a bit like the problems we all face today. Whether it's steampunk, clockpunk, dieselpunk, or fantasy, and whether you prefer alternate history or secret history, you'll find adventure, humor, and occasional romance in my short stories.
Inspired by the works of Jules Verne, I majored in engineering, served in the U.S. submarine force, and worked in a submarine-related field. Now I've turned to writing fiction for readers like you.
