For about thirty years, a New Age book store was one of my favorite places to be. Then one day, I just couldn't find anything that seemed to give me new information. So I stopped shopping around for spiritual books. But Recipes for a Sacred Life was a joy to discover. In many ways it was a refresher course, but don't we all need that? On the other hand, the book made me think about many things in a new way. It didn't shout out at the reader, but rather unfurled like a beautiful flower. Rivvy Neshama makes it all feel fresh and new. She doesn't hide behind perfection, so she allows the reader to forgive herself for being less than perfect. The stories are fascinating and they flow. It is very peaceful reading. This will be my go to book in the years to come when troubles arise and I am in the need for something comforting. It is not a religious book, don't let the title fool you. The book feels like the cover looks.
