I was struck by Andrew's real life faith to first pray and listen, then to obey not knowing where resources and favor would come from, and then to experience GOD'S active presence and provision. I knew of the story but not the details of this story of faith, hope and love. Jonathan Edwards in his book on Charity describes how Love contains Faith and Hope because Love believeth all things and hopeth all things (1 Corinthians 13). Love was Andrew's driving force.
Lord, may I love You and others with this kind of abandon. I was especially struck by he and his wife, Correy's willingness to sell their house to finance the printing of Bibles and Andrew's willingness to take the place of an Iranian / Hezbollah hostage. Neither sacrifice was needed or accepted, but they were authentically offered. That is Christian Love in action. Renovate our hearts, O Lord, to be completely Yours, TRUSTING You.
