This is when we need an option of a 10-star rating because a 5-star rating just simply is nowhere near enough.

Ok, so I purchased this book just under a year ago. I read it cover to cover in less than 2 days and when I was done, I started at the beginning and read it a second time. Since then, I have read it 5 more times and will read it again (and again) whenever I find myself needing inspiration, a renewal of faith, a good cry or when I want to be reminded of what a true hero is all about. Those are just a few of the many things you will experience as you read the story of Adam Brown's life.

It doesn't take long to see that Mr. Brown was truly one-of-a-kind and so having the opportunity to "meet" him through the words of his family, friends and fellow SEALS, was a blessing I was certainly not expecting. The way that Mr. Brown dealt with the ups and downs, the way he defeated the seemingly endless heartbreaking struggles and the way he tackled the mountainous obstacles that continually tried to break him, will make you realize that with dedication, drive and determination, there is absolutely nothing in this world that you can not do or become. Quite honestly, I feel every single high school senior should be given a copy of this book along with their diploma, because nothing that is taught in any classroom or read in any textbook can even come close to the lessons that can be learned from Adam Brown.

In addition, I found myself absolutely captivated by the manner in which Mr. Blehm tells a story. This is the first book of Mr. Blehm's that I've read, but it certainly will not be the last. By default, I'm not a fan of an excessive amount of unnecessary information when it comes to non-fiction. I get very bored, very easily if I feel too much of what I am reading is bogged down with minutia. One of the things I completely adore about Mr. Blehm's style of writing, is that he has an astounding (and rare) way of packing soooo much into soooo little, without missing a single thing. He clearly puts incredible amounts of thought not only into every sentence, but into each word. I feel he is easily one of the most gifted writers I have come across. So much so, each time I finish reading this book, I find myself wishing it would go on forever. He is just that good.

As a side note, if you've put off reading this because you aren't typically interested in war / combat / military-based books, you should know that Mr. Brown's military career is far from being the main focus of FEARLESS - it really made up just a small part of this absolutely incredibly amazing, yet humble man. Adam Brown was a warrior long before he became a SEAL and he was a hero long before he gave his life for what he believed in.
