Lots of good stories and little things that can be done anytime or anywhere in order to lead a more sacred life. I noticed a lot of reviews saying that this book is quite boring because of all the personal stories. The book is comprised of short stories from the life of the author. Most are probably the length of two screenshots. They teach the reader about mindfulness. I found them interesting and useful. I am also looking to lead a more peaceful life and I feel like this book teaches us some useful recipes through these short, personalized stories. It's a good read for someone who is looking for little ways to lead a more peaceful, sacred life.

Recipes for a Sacred Life by Rivvy Neshama
This book of short vignettes is a true treasure to read and own. I have reread many of the selections for a lift when I needed a wisdom boost. She draws on the work of several traditions of spiritual beliefs and many writers making it a compendium of gathered wisdom. It reminds me of the wise things my mother said, much like her mother and some of my favorite authors. We can forget so much of what we learn. A favorite is her piece on poco a poco---a reminder to take things little by little in this fast moving world. Her work centers me at the kitchen table of my mother or Rachel Remen, MD with her wisdom and My Grandfather’s Blessings. Rivvy Neshma’s book is a delightful blessing for a harried time.

The passages are just the right length, typically 2 pages long and when I'm done reading one, my "cup feels full" of encouragement, a gratefulness for life and an appreciation, simply for life.
