I needed this personal and practical book! From start to finish, it showed me I have power over my happiness, my purpose, and my peace of mind. The message that the answers I'm seeking are in me is powerful. Dr. Deborah takes you by the hand and walk you through unconventional steps that will help you understand (decode?) yourself better and enjoy a more fulfilling life. I related to her experience that she genuinely shares and that demonstrates her authority in the matter she discusses. Her explanations and exercises are very easy to follow; it was like having her talking to me and sharing her story. I implemented some of her tips as I was reading, and I already uncovered a few patterns that I can stop, change, or deal with to stop my anger and resentment. I wish I had this practical advice ten years ago. Are you feeling off? Do you have chronic pain, or you don't understand why you're prone to accidents or always emotionally drained? Try Dr. Deborah's way and dig deeper. Or if you’re looking for a different approach and need someone to lead the way, let Dr. Deborah bring her book to life as she works with you personally to harness the wisdom of your unconscious. You'll be surprised.
Dr. Lukovich’s book “Your Soul is Talking: Are You Listening” presents methods based on Jungian psychology to examine one’s inner self. She uses examples out of her own life and has helpful suggestions for journaling and self-reflection.
If a person is truly interested in using this book as a change-agent for their life, the book needs to be taken in small pieces, read, digested, and read again.
She addresses the concept of patriarchy in a refreshing manner. She doesn’t “man-slam” but talks about the ways our society represses other groups of people, which can be done by males or females.
On a personal note, I struggled with her tie-in of Jungian psychology with Christianity, and do not agree with all her assertions. I would, however, embrace her writings in the concept of taking away what is helpful and “leaving the rest” as I believe this book has value in helping people discover the “whys” of our behavior. Overall a deep, but good read.
I liked the easy-to-read, personal way Dr. luckovitch wrote her book. It's helpful Try This section got the reader to look inside and question and then to write out their thoughts. I've always liked journaling and this gives me more to write about and discover things about myself. I recommend it.
This book is for anyone approaching midlife and beyond. During my midlife crisis I managed to resolve core issues without Lukovich's book, but do wish I had it then. The day I started reading the book I had a weird and troubling dream that night. Her book not only helped to uncover what was buried, but work through it. Do yourself a favor--read and study this book, no matter where you think you are in your life. We all can use some coaching on how to listen better to ourselves, not only other people.
Dr. Lukovich has created a framework for transitioning from "before" to "after" for anyone who is interested in a deep examination of their life. Using principles of depth psychology, the reader is guided through a journey to help them connect the mind with the body; and to explore the past to better understand the present and design the future. Although the author's personal transformation took place in mid-life, the Five Step process can help anyone at any life stage who wants to move their life forward with greater intention .
This is not like any other book I have read. . .seriously! If you’re looking for something beyond the surface that is different from what’s out there try this one. In a digestible and practical manner the author challenged me to explore vulnerability and self-compassion while gently tapping into my unconscious. Only recently have I realized how my unconscious was such a powerful guide in my day to day and this book provides many tactics to help me strengthen this muscle further.
I always knew my dreams and odd coincidences were trying to tell me something, but I didn’t know how to decode them until Deborah taught me how to speak the language of the unconscious. I’ve gained so much CLARITY about my life because of this book and our sessions. Now, journaling and drawing are part of my life. This book will help you find meaning in what you might be tempted to dismiss as meaningless.
Dr. Deborah Lukovich really hit home with so many points she discussed in this book. From page one, I felt like I was supposed to read this book. I will definitely be re-reading it again and again as I continue to navigate through many of my own internal battles. I feel like her book truly "speaks to the soul" (see what I did there)?
Brilliant! Dr. Lukovich’s book is a great guide to exploring what your unconscious is saying to you. This book is definitely not a one time read. I’ll be rereading and working through each chapter. The examples, tied in with personal experiences, makes navigating through the process much easier. Highly recommended!
Dr. Lukovich has offered a masterful how-to book filled with personal anecdotes and real-life examples to make it easy to digest. Some "soul" books can be abstract and intangible with their takeaways, but this one is straightforward and to the point. Her vast knowledge is distilled into this handy book so that we can learn from her and put her guidance to use quickly. Worth the read!
